Use Business Sympathy Cards to Express Your Grief

Business sympathy cards are given to a bereaved co-worker, a vendor, a customer, and the family of someone who has passed on with whom you have been related, business-wise. Along with flowers, it is the traditional and appropriate way to send out business sympathy cards to express your connection with them in their time of grief. On the Internet alone, there are many cards available, each one with its own unique design template and textual sentiment. Here are some points of etiquette when sympathizing.

  • Keep it short and simple. A simple message to let someone know that you are there for them during this time is enough. Here are some examples: “My thoughts are with you”. “Please accept my condolences”, or “You are in my thoughts during this difficult time.”
  • Identify yourself. Include your full name in the card in case the mailing envelope gets separated. There is the possibility that you may know the deceased but the family may not know who you are. You can also add a few lines that mention how you know the deceased.
  • Deliver or mail the card as soon as possible. Personally hand your sympathy card. However, a family in mourning may not be available to receive it. Therefore, mailing it is another option to extend your sympathies.

Everyone needs comfort and support when there is a death in the family. A business sympathy card is a way to tell them how much they mean to you.
